I love the answers other people gave, and I am going to try some of them out, but one of the best places I have found to legally pay for and watch many outstanding Hindi films, including fairly current releases as well as many classics is at this site:
This is the official site of the production and distribution house of Eros International. It costs about 10 dollars US a month, but I've found it to be invaluable. I've been using it quite a long time and I still haven't run through their entire catalog. One of the other plus factors: you can see trailers for upcoming films and listen to current film soundtracks as well as a couple of other small services.
I do have one other suggestion and that is to double check theatres in your area for first run films. There are a couple of cinemas where I am that show current releases-not all but many. I check every weekend to see what's coming up. I do NOT live in an area that has a high Indian population, but there are still places that do show these films. Check it out for your area.
