It comes as a pleasant surprise that the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has finally decided to end her long-standing love affair with black. The former Miss World has been featured in a print ad campaign for a leading real estate developer in a trendy yellow gown by Delhi-based designer duo Gauri & Nainika. In the overhead shot, the diva is seen posing against a backdrop of lotus blossoms in the one-shoulder gown that features a white ruffled flower on the edge of the skirt.
The dress is a hot-off-the-runway style that was showcased by the designers during the Wills Lifestyle International Fashion Week in October 2014, wherein the gown had a plunging neckline. Softly done smoky eyes, a pink pout, dewy skin and classic waves complete Ash's look along with a cuff by jewellery designer Maithili Kabre.
Commenting on the outfit, the designers told MAIL TODAY: "Aishwarya looks stunning in this bright yellow gown of ours. The colour is great on her, and the cinched-in waist and flared lower body accentuates her curves perfectly. The style is glamorous with an upbeat sensibility and is perfect for red carpet dressing in summer."
While Ash looks great in the ad, the campaign has fans wondering whether the actress's body has been photoshopped to look slimmer. The issue of photoshopping models to look skinny in print ads and shoots has become a topic of debate over the past few years as it forces unrealistic standards of beauty upon women. The rallying cry to ban it is gaining momentum.
